The installation invites us to glimpse the extraordinary within the ordinary, where everyday gestures -eating, dressing, playing- unfold in a realm of geometric abstraction. Rooted in the language of Surrealism, the display reinterprets the mundane through distortion, scale, and juxtaposition, merging Hermès’ emblematic accessories with playful visual compositions.
At its core, a totemic figure strides forward, walking its pet -a study in balance and proportion, a character seemingly caught between motion and stillness. The transition from illustration to object unfolds as a collage of textures and materials: papier-mâché, plaster, lacquered and natural wood, painted metal, and felt. Geometric fragments interlock, suspending the forms between lightness and structure, where weight becomes an illusion, and construction an act of storytelling.
Each element, meticulously crafted and finished by hand, carries the imprint of its making, an homage to the artisanal essence of Hermès.
