THE PODIUM
THE PODIUM
OBJECT SCENOGRAPHIES
The Podium embodies a deliberate paradox: it is both an autonomous object and a space in itself. Caught somewhere between stage and sculpture, it toys with the idea of display.
The Podium’s lacquered dark red surface absorbs and reflects light, revealing its contours in ever-changing ways. Its bold geometry and distinct materiality amplify its sculptural presence, asserting an unexpected monumentality. Yet the carved recesses and shifting planes create a peculiar topography: voids and surfaces that invite storytelling, platforms for imaginary arrangements, strange little windows into scenes that may or may not unfold.
Leaning into a kind of theatrical absurdity, the Podium tiptoes between the familiar and the extraordinary. It proposes no specific role, but rather stages its own ambiguity.
